About Pixformet

Tools that stay out of your way

Pixformet is a small, independent toolkit for the everyday jobs that come up around images, PDFs and documents — built so you can get in, get the job done, and get out, without an account, an upload queue, or a catch.

Why Pixformet exists

Pixformet started from a simple, recurring frustration: the small tasks of daily digital life — shrinking a photo before emailing it, cropping a passport photo to spec, merging a stack of scanned pages into one PDF, turning a Word document into a PDF for a job application — usually meant hunting through ad-heavy sites, creating an account you'd never use again, or uploading a personal file to a server with no idea where it actually went.

None of that felt necessary. Modern browsers are powerful enough to resize an image, rasterize a PDF page, or rebuild a document entirely on your own device. So that's what we built: a set of focused, single-purpose tools that each do one job properly, run directly inside your browser tab, and ask nothing of you except that you find them useful.

How the tools actually work

Every tool on Pixformet runs client-side. When you drop a file into a tool, your browser's own JavaScript engine — not a Pixformet server — does the compressing, cropping, converting or merging. The libraries that power specific tools (PDF rendering, background removal, spreadsheet generation, and so on) are loaded from public code repositories the first time you open that tool, but your actual files never leave your device during normal use. You can read the full detail in our Privacy Policy.

This approach has two nice side effects: the tools are usually instant, because there's no upload or download queue to wait on, and your files stay private by default, because there's no server-side copy to worry about, get breached, or accidentally retain.

What we believe in

01

Privacy by default

Processing happens on your device. We don't ask why you're compressing a photo or what's in your PDF, and we can't see it either.

02

No unnecessary friction

No account, no email verification, no forced newsletter to unlock a download button. Open the tool, use the tool.

03

Free, funded by ads

Pixformet is free to use and supported by advertising rather than subscriptions, so the tools stay accessible to anyone who needs them.

04

Built to last

These are boring, dependable utilities, not a growth experiment. We'd rather ship fewer tools that work correctly than a long list of half-finished ones.

Who's behind Pixformet

Pixformet is an independently run project rather than a large company — a small team building and maintaining the site directly, which is why the tool list grows deliberately rather than all at once. If something breaks, doesn't work the way you expected, or you'd like to see a new tool added, a real person reads every message sent to pixformet@gmail.com.

What's next

Image tools were phase one. Document tools — merging, splitting, compressing and converting PDFs, Word files and spreadsheets — are live now as phase two. From here, the roadmap is shaped largely by what people actually ask for, so if there's a repetitive file task you're still doing manually, let us know.
