Section 1

General

What is Pixformet?

Pixformet is a free collection of browser-based tools for everyday image and document tasks — compressing photos, resizing and cropping, converting formats, and working with PDFs, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. Everything runs locally in your browser rather than on a remote server.

Is Pixformet really free?

Yes. Every tool is free to use, with no usage caps hidden behind a paywall. The Site is supported by advertising rather than subscriptions.

Do I need to create an account?

No. There's no sign-up, login, or email verification for any tool. Open a tool page and start using it immediately.

Which browsers and devices are supported?

Pixformet works in modern versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on both desktop and mobile. Because processing happens in your browser, very old browser versions or devices with limited memory may struggle with large files.

Is there a Pixformet mobile app?

Not currently — the website itself is designed to work well on mobile browsers, so there's no separate app to install.

Section 2

Privacy & Security

Do you store or see my files?

No. Nearly every Tool processes files entirely inside your browser — they are not uploaded to a Pixformet server during normal use. See our Privacy Policy for full detail.

Is it safe to use Pixformet for sensitive documents?

Because processing is local to your device, sensitive files are generally safer with Pixformet than with services that require an upload. That said, always use good judgment with highly confidential material, and check your organization's own file-handling policy if one applies.

What data do you actually collect?

We don't collect the contents of files you process. We may use aggregated, non-identifying analytics to see which tools are popular, and our advertising partners use cookies to serve ads — details are in the Privacy Policy.

Do you use cookies?

We use minimal local storage to remember tool preferences, and our advertising partners (including Google AdSense) may set their own cookies. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings.

Section 3

Using the tools

Why did my file fail to process?

The most common causes are a corrupted or password-protected file, an unsupported file type for that specific tool, or a very large file that exceeds your browser's available memory. Try a smaller file or a different browser, and if the problem persists, report it with the tool name and browser version.

Is there a maximum file size?

There's no hard limit set by Pixformet, but because processing happens in your browser, very large files (for example, PDFs with hundreds of high-resolution pages) depend on your device's available memory and may slow down or fail on lower-powered devices.

Which file formats are supported?

It depends on the tool — image tools generally support JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC; document tools work with PDF, DOCX, XLSX and PPTX. Each tool page lists the exact formats it accepts.

Why do PDF tools take a moment to load?

The first time you open a PDF-related tool, your browser downloads the open-source PDF processing library it needs. This is a one-time load per browser session and speeds up on repeat visits thanks to caching.

My browser froze or the tab crashed — what happened?

This usually means the file was too large for your device's available memory, since processing happens locally rather than on a server. Try closing other tabs, using a smaller file, or switching to a desktop device for very large jobs.

Section 4

Ads & support

Why does Pixformet show ads?

Advertising is what allows us to keep every tool free, with no account and no subscription. Ads are served by third-party networks including Google AdSense — see our Privacy Policy for how those cookies work.

Can I use Pixformet without ads?

Ads help fund the Site's hosting and development, so we don't currently offer an ad-free tier. Using a browser-level ad blocker is a personal choice, though we'd appreciate you keeping ads on if the tools are useful to you.

How do I report a bug?

Use the Contact page and include the tool name, your browser and operating system, and what you expected versus what happened. Screenshots help a lot.

How do I request a new tool?

We'd love to hear it — send a note through the Contact page describing the task you're stuck doing manually. Tool requests directly shape our roadmap.
